Improved Software Defined Radio
The purpose of this payload is to demonstrate the benefits of software defined radio in space application by implementing ADS-B and AIS tracking, along with uplink and downlink ground station communications. Temperature, pressure, and accelerometer data that was generated by the payload was successfully combined with AIS and ADS-B data and sent to both the mobile ground station at location in Wallops Island, VA and the Virginia Tech ground station in Blacksburg, VA.
